Last week I saw Paul McCartney in concert, and something happened that I never expected. I didn’t scream or cry as the fans did in the 1960s, but can I just say how thrilling it was to be in the same space with my favorite Beatle and hear him perform live?
Paul McCartney is not only insanely talented but also incredibly charming and amusing. His banter and stories in between musical numbers were so entertaining. This concert was two days before Paul McCartney’s 80th birthday. Just wrap your head around that number for a minute! Paul played guitar and keyboard and chatted up an audience of tens of thousands for 3 hours without a break. His energetic presence never faltered.
After a light rain, the stage got wet, and Paul slipped….imagine an audience of that magnitude simultaneously letting out a reflexive frightened gasp! Not to worry….Paul righted himself and stayed upright – this, my friends, is the genesis of what I learned from Paul.
If I take care of myself and respect my health, I will have stamina and physical agility at 80 years old. If I prioritize self-care, I can enjoy the things that bring me joy.
I want to be gardening, singing, traveling, and experiencing life without hesitation at 80 years old, so thank you, Paul, for these “whisper words of wisdom.”
